“We have transformed my very old Kent Logfire from a wood gorging, ash generating, flue smoking, hard to light “monster” into a very effective woodfire”
George from Gisborne states: I put one of these in last winter and the difference was astounding.
Anita from Matamata: If you want massively better efficiency from your fire this winter, get hooked up with an IntensiFire!!! I have 2. Wouldn’t be without it! Wood burns better longer, less emissions contributing to carbon foot print etc… Hit up Jason Stewart for yours before he gets too busy!
Shane from Taranaki: It now heats the whole house, before it just heated the room.
Barry from Avondale: Amazing, just bloody amazing, wood burns longer, and seems to be hotter, magic.
Willy from Auckland: Have you thought about calling it the incinerator? I am burning some of the garden waste I cut down last Sunday. I am only burning the small leafy crap but it has got tube glowing a little red.
Sharyn from Hamilton: I think it is a great design that will help people save money, and also be better on the environment for those who use wood burners. Great job.
Carol and Charlie – East Coast (NZ) Chucked in some paper, burned it (what a roar when it ignited). I then loaded up the fire box (as per your advice), and fired it up with a couple of firelighters. Your comments about smoke are true. I left one of the the doors ajar for extra draw, and within five minutes I had a serious fire burning. I then closed the doors, with the air vent dials fully open. Within 10 to 15 minutes we were sitting on the other side of the lounge! I have never had the Fisher pump heat like this before. You can hear the fire roaring when you get close to the box. Night 2, I decided to use the gas torch to light the fire, and what a difference. Having super heated air screaming through the wood and up the chimney sped up the ignition process and resulted in much less smoke quicker.
It is producing at least twice the heat it used to, there are no dead spots and very little ash, the results have been well worth the effort.

Now I can report on my experience with Intensifire.
Started it up again and it is most impressive.
So easy to light. Then I run it with quite a lot of smaller wood (say 50mm dia) to get a good base, then start loading it in front of the intensifire with hardwood (gum) and a couple of pieces of pine, so that the fuel is piled up between the door (air entry) and the base of the intensifire and I ran it like that for two or three fuel loads with air supply wide open. Then reload as above but with air control at 75% open and it just purrs along with reload about every 90 minutes.
There is NO smoke from the flue, minimal ash build up and lots of hot air

Hi Jason,
Fired it up for the first time on Saturday night and it lit up really well with a bit of a roar and light smoking from the flue outlet (about 3.6 metres high)
Once it heated up and got a good flame going there was no smoke – just the heat haze.
Really impressed with the performance and output. I believe about 80% more output for using around 2/3rds the fuel.
We could only get max 18 degrees C inside when it was 8 degrees C outside on Friday night – our house is fully insulated, ceiling, floor, walls and double glazing throughout. On Saturday and Sunday nights (after fitting the Intensifire) with similar temp of 8 degrees outside we had 21 degrees C inside !! More than cosy and very dry heat – impressive result.
Even our cat which usually sleeps as close as possible to the fire decided to just go and sleep on a chair after about 5 minutes – no argument there!
So once again a great result as you predicted and a very warm house. So I’m off to crank it up again as the sun is disappearing.
Many thanks again for your input and help with adaption.

Have just gotten the fire going. Very, very impressed!

Well after roughly a week with the ‘new’ fire I have made these observations. It is much easier to light than it used to be. Once I have gotten the dry wood going well, I can put even green wood on, and it will burn. I need to cut my wood smaller to fit, but that will happen easier with the next load I cut. The room heats extremely quickly. I still have the problem of being able to get close enough to the fire to light or stoke it, but that is due to the dogs and cats piled in front of it waiting for it to be lit.
Clarence from Virginia Beach – USA, with a Buck Insert Stove
I now get a fire going, watching temps…once a good bed of coals are there and temps up around 3-400°F on the insert top load it up and shut off primary air… and let it go…. I can keep temps 4-600°F for about 2-2.5 hours before it slowly starts to fall & cool off… this is the best time to re-load and start the cycle all over again… (only on one side) if I use both sides of insert, it just gets to hot for the ms. and she bitches about it being to hot…Crazy right… [I killed my x-mas tree- dried it up in less than 2 weeks.]

With the Mk 1 in 2011 – it has transformed our house!
03/03/2015 Jason installed the Intensifire on my woodburner about 4 years ago and it has been a success in every respect.
It has undoubtedly generated more heat from the same amount of wood fuel, so our house has been really warm over the winters since then. We use wood off our own property, which varies a lot in size, quality, and dryness, so it is almost never fully seasoned, yet it lights and heats the house very well. I have only just had the flue cleaned after all that time and found that no more than a cupful of soot had collected in the whole chimney. The version of the IntensiFire I have was the protoyype and I understand from Jason that he has introduced improvements on subsequent versions. I thoroughly recommend the device.

Another stunning innovation came from the IntensiFire firebox insert. Although an untraditional stove entry, this insert was New Zealand inventor Jason Stewart’s way to instantly transform an old, dirty wood stove into a clean-burning model of efficiency. Jason’s low-cost IntensiFire downdraft device fits inside traditional wood stoves and burns wood up to 60 percent more efficiently.
